How to Get Your Car’s Paint Smooth as Butter

Just washing your car won’t get the super shine and smoothness that is needed to preserve your paint. A smart auto enthusiast knows there are many steps involved when cleaning your automotive. In this article I am going to give a summary of the right steps when detailing your car.

#1 Pre-Wash
The first thing I do when I am cleaning my car is pre wash the car. The pre washes purpose is to get everything off the paint to prepare it for the clay bar. When you are washing the car it’s also a good idea to get under the hood and degrease the engine if needed. Once you are finished washing it spray the soap off and don’t dry it.

#2 Clay Bar
Smart auto enthusiastsclay bar. Next while the cars is still wet get a detailing clay bar and rub it back in forth not circles just doing sections of the car at a time. If needed use a spray bottle with a tiny bit of soap for lubrication. The clay bar will remove many imperfections, rail dust, and stuck on dirt leaving your paint very smooth.

#3 Final Wash
This is your final wash, make sure to spray the side view mirrors and get the door jams. After you are done washing dry it off immediately and open all doors, trunk, and hood and dry off all the door jams. If you forget to get the door jams water is liable to leak out later and ruin your perfect finish with water spots.

#4 Preparation for Wax

When the car is completely dry I like to go over the car top to bottom with a very strong tar remover. I try and make sure there is no bits of tar, paint, bugs or dirt that was missed earlier. The reason for this is because if you are using a motorized buffer it’s really easy to get something caught in the pad that could easily make a devastating scratch that would ruin the finish of the car.

#5 Waxing
I don’t want to plug a certain kind of wax but there are many good ones out there. Personally I use just Mothers, I find for the price it’s hard to beat. Application of the wax can be done by hand or buffing machine. Buffing machines have the ability to remove scratches and bring up a higher shine than hand waxing but it takes more of a skill level for the average auto enthusiast.

#6 Clean up
After waxing it’s very important to remove ALL of the wax on the auto. If you forget to remove wax it will harden and look terrible. I like to take a very clean towel and go over the whole car, making sure to open all the doors to get the jams. Get all the areas where the wax likes to hide. After I’m done I like to go over it one more time with a liquid quick wax in a spray bottle to give it one last coat and making sure to get all the remaining wax removed.

The Yin and Yang of the Healthy Individual

The Chinese believe our bodies are complete halves, one side
being the passive and the other being the aggressive, and it
only through the successful union of the halves, that we have
the healthy whole.

Western medicine has so far, not subscribed to this theory, in
whole. There is compelling evidence to support many of the
Chinese theories on the joining of the body’s energy forces and
balancing our flow of energy through the entire body.
Chiropractic and acupuncture philosophies base their entire
practice on the successful correlation of the body’s energy
flow, nervous system impulses, and skeletal alignment.

What we do know, about individuals is that the entire system
must be in balance for attainment of true wellness and health.
Our physical, mental, and spiritual existence must be aligned
and working as a whole. To better understand this principle, we
need to take a closer look at some of the ancient healing
techniques and philosophies. Perhaps then we can develop a
better understanding of how our body works with itself to heal.

In the tradition of acupuncture, the vital energy flow occurs
along pathways known as meridians. These meridians connect over
2,000 acupuncture points along the body. There are 12 main
meridians, and 8 secondary meridians. Although traditional
western medicine does not completely understand how acupuncture
works, the proof that it does work has been shown in several
studies conducted by western medical facilities.

The very nature of chiropractic care is the belief in the body’s
own healing properties. Quite often, we can have small problems
in one area of our body, and not even realize it until the
effect is felt in a much larger way, somewhere else.

The practice of chiropractic care focuses on the relationship
between your spine and your nervous system. The spine is the
structure, and the nervous system is the function. Chiropractic
believes these two systems work in unison to keep and then
restore your body’s health. The word “chiropractic” is taken
from Greek, and means “done by hand”.

If you take the basic premise from each form of healing, and
apply it to the knowledge that we have about the interaction of
the mind, body, and spirit, you can see that these ancient
healing philosophies are very accurate in their belief about
treatment and how the body works. They were able to discern this
hundreds of years before science could actually provide the
proof.

The amazing part thing to me is that with all of this
knowledge, and all the opportunity for self-help and healing
that we have available, we still have individuals who suffer
simply because they aren’t willing to put forth the effort to
learn and participate. We have every possible venue for healing
options available, for the low-income, for the middle-income,
and for the wealthy. There is no bias when it comes to
availability. We simply need to take advantage of the yin and
yang of our opportunity. Part of the halves is in place, now we
just need the participants.

Cleaning Dryer Vents - Tips To Prevent A House Fire!

Make It A Ritual!

If part of your household maintenance plan does not include cleaning dryer vents then it should. Every year there are over 15,000 home fires caused by dryer fires with over 300 injuries and leading to 30 deaths. Not cleaning dryer vents also causes 90 million dollars in damages in the United States alone. Based on these statistics, it is important for every homeowner to be aware of the recommendations and procedures for cleaning dryer vents that will keep them safe and comfortable in their home for years to come. Take a look at these important questions about cleaning dryer vents and facts to consider when you are deciding how to do it, when to do it, and who should do it.

What Are Clues Your Dryer Vent Needs Cleaning?

If your dryer is taking longer to dry a load than it used to, then the vents may need cleaning. As a general rule, dryer vents should be cleaned every six months. A simple reminder is to start cleaning dryer vents the same day you change your clocks for daylight savings.

What Is The Purpose Of Cleaning Dryer Vents?

As your clothes dry, they produce lint, and the lint trap doesn’t catch all of the lint that goes through your dryer. By cleaning dryer vents that are outside of the lint trap, you are removing this excess lint.

Where Are The Dryer Vents?

When cleaning dryer vents, you need to make sure you clean the vent located at the rear of your dryer, as well as the route of the piping to the outside of your home.

Should I Clean My Vents On My Own?

You can easily hire someone, or if you are comfortable and willing to purchase the proper tools, you can easily clean the dryer vents yourself. You can find tools at hardware and home improvement stores, or online made specifically for cleaning dryer vents. When cleaning dryer vents, you will need a circular or horizontal brush that is on the end of a plastic/metal pole or durable line. Ask a professional to help you find the best tool to match your dryer’s needs and shape.

Take this simple step towards fire prevention in your home that will go a long way toward keeping your family safe.

Effective Acne Treatments - Making Your Own!

Choosing effective acne treatments from amongst the plethora of products available today can be a daunting task, and while many skincare specialists advocate the use of gentle products, it can be difficult to find a natural facial cleanser that will effectively cleanse your skin, while attacking the causes of your acne. This is why many people are choosing to make their own natural face cleaner from products in their own kitchen. And these can make effective acne treatments.

It can be difficult to make sense of the complicated sounding ingredients listed on the side of manufactured products, but many of the active properties of these cleansers are introduced by the addition of some of nature’s simplest ingredients. You can recreate your very own effective acne treatments by putting these together in your own natural facial cleaner, making a product that can effectively treat your acne in a natural and gentle way.

A wide variety of natural products can act as effective natural facial cleaners that can be applied to the skin and rinsed away with warm water. The natural astringency of lime juice makes it an excellent base in effective acne treatments - mixed with boiled milk, it makes an effective and soothing facial wash. Mix lime juice with equal amounts of groundnut oil to use as a pre-wash: apply to the skin and leave for ten to fifteen minutes before washing. Mix with rose water and leave on the skin for about twenty minutes, and see how refreshed your skin looks and feels when you rinse with warm water.

Rose water can also be mixed with sandalwood to create an effective acne treatment - simply apply to the face and rinse with water after twenty minutes. Ground orange peel and water can be made into a paste and used in the same way. Natural facial cleaners can even be produced by mixing such strange ingredients as turmeric powder and mint juice; just rinse with water after twenty minutes to see the difference.

As with all new facial products that you use, it is always wise to test a patch of your skin for any potential adverse reactions before applying to your whole face. Rub a small amount of your selected mixture just behind your ear, rinse, and wait twenty-four hours. If you experience any redness or itchy patches, then one of the ingredients might not be right for you.

But don’t be disheartened - just try the next mixture. It could be one of the effective acne treatments you’ve been looking for.

You can often be surprised, but you can sometimes make your own effective acne treatments.

When You Give a Kid a Muffin, You’re Gonna Get a Smile.

In our house muffins hold a grand place of honor - in the hands of the toddlers. These ‘travel friendly’ little cakes are, in my opinion, the perfect food; especially for little kids. Muffins are just the right size for little hands and little mouths as well. During the warm months, I can give a kid a muffin from the back door and they run gleefully across the yard with snack in hand. Healthy, hearty and delicious, muffins are a meal in one.

Muffins, generally speaking, come in two types - American and English. My favorite muffins to bake and serve are bread-like textured American muffins. The bumpy muffin tops are great on their own, but bake a fruit-filled muffin recipe, and you’ve created a masterpiece. One word of caution on baking muffins: do not over mix or you’ll have a tough muffin with holes in the middle. Stir about 10 strokes and your muffins will be fine. Not that a hungry little kid is going to notice however!

If you’re concerned with feeding your family healthy muffins, and who isn’t of course, there are some wonderful choices in recipes. Low fat versions are good for diet conscious parents as well.

Here are a couple of healthy and delicious muffin recipes for you to try.

Applesauce Oat Muffins

1-1/2 cups oats
1-1/4 cs flour
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 c applesauce
1 egg
1/2 c milk
5 tbsp oil
1/2 c brown sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine oats, flour, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda. Add applesauce, milk, brown sugar, egg, oil. Mix just until moist, about 10 strokes, do not over mix. Put in muffin cups about 2/3 full. Bake 20 minutes or until passes toothpick test.

Raisin and Pumpkin Muffins

1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup Splenda
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup can pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla
5 tbsp melted butter
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 400. Mix dry ingredients together. Add milk, pumpkin, vanilla, butter and egg, stirring gently 2 times. Add raisins, and stir just until moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full, and bake 18-20 minutes or until passes toothpick test.

Mix up a quick batch of muffins, and watch the crowd come sniffing around to see what’s baking! Muffins are best eaten right after they’ve cooled, but also freeze well and can be heated in the microwave, making them great for family meal planning. Give a kid a muffin today and watch him smile!
