Marketing is More Than a Token Process

“Necessity is the mother of invention!” The first time I heard this was nearly twenty years ago when I was introduced to Tony Robbins’ material. I was listening to, and applying, information from his thirty day series. I have to admit, the first time I heard this it didn’t quite register.

However, nearly two decades later, it makes all the sense in the world. In fact, a majority of the things we take for granted were created out of a need. When the need became great enough, someone figured out a solution.

Such is the case with a new eBook that just hit the market - Tokens for TV. The idea for this informative book is the brainchild of working mom, Lisa Workman. As she explains it, about a year ago, she and her husband were struggling with how to get their kids to take an interest in choosing how much television and computer time they were spending each day. She came up with a system that not only limited how much TV/Computer time they received, but also took out some of the parental nagging and placed some responsibility on their shoulders. She came up with a simple solution to helping children manage their television and computer time.

Seeing how effective her system is, friends started asking her how it worked. After numerous requests, she began writing down the system and eventually fine tuned it to the point it became her now popular eBook, Tokens for TV.

An exciting aspect of this resource is that the information aligns perfectly with Lisa’s personal and professional vision and mission. She is extremely committed to providing quality information to families while promoting healthy lifestyles for children. However, something Lisa realizes is that without an effective marketing campaign to promote Tokens for TV there are many people who will never know how effective the system can be.

Lisa has put together a very effective campaign which includes full use of her Tokens for TV website, free reports, and article distribution both online and off, interviews with the media and viral marketing. Her marketing plan was developed long before the eBook was taken to market. Without a doubt, she will be successful in getting the word out.

Like Lisa Workman, many people have an idea that is a perfect solution to a common problem. Unlike Lisa, a great majority of people only think about the solution, yet do nothing about it. Then they wonder why success happens to others but not to them. Success is determined by the actions one takes.

As you think of solutions you can offer to your customers or clients, how would you answer the following questions?

* What is the primary problem that keeps your customers awake at night?

* What products or services do you need to develop that would solve their problem?

* What do you need to do to market your product or service?

* Do you have a plan put in place?

* Are you willing to invest the time and money into marketing your product or service?

* Are you willing to take responsibility for all that needs to be done on a consistent basis?

When Lisa identified a problem that prevails in many families she could have responded like most and simply said, “Wouldn’t it be nice if someone came up with a solution?” Rather, she mapped out the solution, developed it into a system and is now making it available to those who will benefit from it.

What is the solution you have that people are waiting for?

Learn How Entrepreneurs Make Millions

There are three basic ways of earning money which include trading time for money, trading money for money and trading expertise/value for money.

Society and the formal education system promote the first method of earning money which involves trading time for money. In other words, you work for someone else for a specific amount of time and then they pay you. Working for someone else drains your energy and you don’t make much money.

The second way to earn money is utilized by a small portion of the population and involves trading money for money. In other words, you are earning money through investing. Investing can be risky because if you lack additional funds then how can you invest any money in the first place? Therefore, many people can’t even try this option because they only have enough money to pay their bills.

The third way to earn money is the best option. This entrepreneurial option involves trading expertise/value for money. This is the strategy of entrepreneurial experts. You have a flexible schedule, work less, and earn more. You can make thousands of dollars a day in this option.

In order to earn money through trading expertise/value for money you need to first figure out who you are and what you can give to others. What information do you know that could help others? You can find value from previous work experience or even from your hobbies. From this you can create your intellectual property.

What is Intellectual property? How big is the market for Intellectual property? Is there room for you in the Intellectual property market? These may be a few of the questions you have when you are investigating the information marketing business. First of all, anyone can create intellectual property. You don’t need to be a Rocket Scientist. You just need to have an area or expertise, or access to an expert, and a drive to succeed.

Intellectual property combines e-commerce and book publishing. For example, you can write and sell an eBook. Recent research has found that approximately 6 out of every 10 American adults surf the Internet on a daily basis seeking out entertainment, education, and to shop for products. People are more comfortable buying online then in the past. The market through the Internet is global and encompasses millions of people. Therefore, the information marketing business has room for everyone!

When you market on the Internet, you market to your niche. Therefore, you don’t have to worry whether or not your neighbor will want to buy your product. The Internet opens the niche market for you.

If creating and selling intellectual property on the Internet is so simple, why isn’t everyone doing this? The formal educational system and previous societal beliefs are to blame. In school, we are taught to finish school and then become an employee at a company. The entrepreneurial spirit is not promoted; in fact it is almost shunned.

Don’t let societal beliefs stop you. The intellectual property market is wide, diverse, and ready to fill your pocket book with cash.

Rescue Your Dreams!

“Rescue your dreams.” “Never let the odds keep you from pursuing what you know in your heart you were meant to do.” These two pages from “Life’s Little Instruction Calendar Volume III (and More)” came into my life in the fall of 1997 when I was ready to really hear their truths and take them for my own. Now posted on my refrigerator they still remind and challenge me to live believing in my dreams, believing in myself.

The decade I worked at AOL enabled me to live an often dream-like existence in my work world. Dream-like because we had an inspiring vision and mission within which I was given opportunities to create and contribute at levels not often offered to people my age. Yet my personal life was far from dream-like. In the fall of 1997, I finally had the courage to reclaim my life from a debilitating marriage, to rescue it, and recreate it as something that fulfilled and inspired me.

I didn’t know for sure what shape my dream would take, though I knew it would have some of the same characteristics I’d experienced at AOL: purposeful, positive, fun, authentic, satisfying. I also believed that for me to be truly alive and be truly myself my path was going to look different than my past, different than I originally thought it would take.

The only thing that could have prevented me from finding my new path was the “odds” that I might not be able to muster the courage to pursue it. Whether it’s being different from others or simply being different from who I’d been, what would hold me back, if I let it, was not having the guts to take the risk to venture into unknown territory. “One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time.” said French novelist Andre Gide. I couldn’t grab hold of the next version of Mary until I let go of the last. And circumstances were helping me to move on. For all the hard effort I’d put into my marriage, it still wasn’t working. For all the success I’d had at AOL I was being blocked to grow my career as I wanted.

At first I took these realizations very hard. Then I recognized how these circumstances were giving me the chance to get closer to the person I was meant to be and to the next set of things I was meant to do. So, I consented to lose sight of the shore.

Years ago I had a faint inkling to write a book about my lessons learned at AOL. Now I’ve written two books! When I started writing my first manuscript, I had no idea that I would start my own company to spread the bodacious message or speak in front of hundreds of women or conduct teleseminars or any of the activities I do today. All I knew is that I had to rescue my dreams and courageously walk forward.

In our tumultuous world, it’s easy to forget to dream and believe anything is possible, but, it truly is. And, it starts with allowing yourself to dream of what’s possible for your career, business, and life. Will you join me in rescuing our dreams?

Are You Ready to Get Out of Your Entrepreneurial Rut?

When you first leave the corporate world to start a home-based business, you’re pumped, assured and passionate about making your dream come true and that excitement and desire can fuel your progress for a good long while.

Eventually, like all things that go up, a plateau is inevitable and it’s at this stage that you as an entrepreneur may start to feel frustrated, lost or even as though you’ve reached the limit of your capabilities. You become stuck and don’t know what to do about it.

You fall into an “entrepreneurial rut”.

It’s at this time you need to acknowledge your accomplishments! You’ve mastered a significant level of growth are now ready to move forward to a higher plane of functioning and thinking.

The number one characteristic of highly successful people is they are “pro-active” and in order to take charge of your life and business and move to the next stage in your evolution, it’s important to understand that you are fully equipped to create your ideal future.

Time in itself changes nothing, so if you continue to run your business with the same thinking that brought you to where you are today, time will only give you more of what you already have.

If you’ve fallen into an entrepreneurial rut, this is an indication that it’s time to take in new information, learn new skills, open your mind to new ideas, and develop new relationships. These are a few conscious activities that can move you forward.

You can also enlist the power of your subconscious mind if you want to make exponential leaps forward. Your mind is like a computer and can be programmed to believe certain truths. It doesn’t judge and accepts any thought you put into it as reality.

If you repeat a desirable message to yourself on a daily basis and start thinking and acting from that moment forward that it’s already true, your subconscious mind will believe it to be true and will start creating results for you that will make it real.

A powerful strategy to increase your success and get you out of any rut is to put new programming into your mind.

By tapping into higher intelligence through meditation and visualization, you can increase your intuitive skills, and remove fears and self-sabotaging beliefs that may be holding you back.

Albert Einstein once said, “You cannot solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it.” Likewise, you cannot grow your business with the same level of mind that brought you to your plateau.

To help break out of a rut, practice meditation and ask the universe, “What would be the best choice for me right now?” Listen to intuitive messages and open your mind to higher intelligence.

Without expectation, you may be invited to a function that will allow you to connect with people who can help you to your next stage of growth. While reading the paper one day, you may notice an announcement about an expert in your field giving a workshop in your city. You may cross paths with a stranger on the street who has a message you most need to hear at a particular point in time.

Your mind is one of the most powerful tools in your arsenal. Take time to program it for success and tap into higher intelligence. Combine this with proactive daily activities and the sky will be the limit!
