Caring Souls Realize Sharing Positive Expectations Is a Good Idea for Dating

For one, I couldn’t characterize myself as pleasantly comfortable living alone and not be lying. But, I’m not uncomfortable about it, either. I merely bring it up on the blogosphere as an ear-catching piece of info introducing what I am prepared to discuss honestly.

A week ago today yours truly was walking the dog, Stacey, considering joining the Phoenix Great Expectations dating service. Now, I stand to each of you as a happy member of the singles network. For real, and I almost don’t believe it myself! I like it! If you’ve been paying attention, you’re probably thinking, “You got some ’splainin to do, Lucy!”

Here’s how it went down, I looked at this Great Expectations Dating site and can really get behind their approach. They’re for the serious singles who care enough to know dating should mean something.

‘Cause I’d never enjoyed or even tolerated whatever it is that most people have christened “The Dating Experience.” I heard it more than anyone should. Day and night they nagg, “Are you two serious yet?” and “Oh I know just the guy for you!”

“Baloney!” I say to them, and playfully so. “Not after that last blind date you set me up on.”

“Don’t be silly,” they deadpan. “You haven’t dated in a year, you wouldn’t know!”

That’s just my best friend The One-And-Only (hehe) Stacey McCarthy. She beams common sense directly to my core to set me straight. People I depend on . Can’t argue with that, and I joined.

Back to the theme of this blog entry. As I browsed from more than three hundred quality singles for my first date with Great Expectations, something occurred to me that was quite true. For years, I hadn’t held any actual great expectations for dating and myself in the serendipitous journey of being alive. Single life has its perks, even more so if you use the freedom to date. Having great expectations works terrifically for a caring soul.
